Every month the government issues dozens of surveys covering a wide range of subjects. This blog posting is made for social work students and others interested in knowing the current status of social programs in the state of New Jersey. The New Jersey Department of Human Services publishes a monthly report of programs administered by the Division of Family Development (DFD). There are charts and tables covering Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), General Assistance (GA), emergency assistance, child support, and SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), formerly known as food stamps.
The Division of Family Development has been publishing this monthly report, Current Program Statistics, since 1997. Each report is about twenty pages. So if you are doing a research paper on welfare or other programs in New Jersey, or interested in knowing how your county is doing, go visit DFD’s publications and reports page.
